Its 1973. The chief ally of the Republic of Viet Nam has already 10 years before connived in the assassination of its president.
5 years after that, our own new president has rode to office with a plan to double the length of our occupation, and its butcher's bill. After that 4 years he has sold Saigon out to Beijing at Paris, 1972.
The Republic of Viet Nam marks 1973 with a new medal, that will in 2 years' time seem remarkably prescient, the Medal for Campaigns Outside the Frontier. Since 1975 that is where all their campaigns have been.
Please join me for the 5th of my celebrations of counter-insurgent John Sylvester's reference work, The Decorations and Medals of the Republic of Viet Nam. I can't think what else John and I might agree on except that Saigon was a real country and a noble cause.
Most people I agree with on everything else don't find that plausible at all. See, what you have to do is learn Vietnamese.
Everyone who calls RVN a puppet of the United States in that language knows that they are lying, or repeating lies. If they were puppets would we have killed so many of our allies?
Who got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? Pay no attention, I am getting over my booster.
Please attend to my reading of John's documentation of the nation he served once and for all. Do that and you fulfill the purpose of these Viet Nam letters.
Should you support the other readers at $50/year or the writing at $250/year, I will appreciate it.
